Irene Zehenthofer is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Sociology. She studied theatre, film and media studies at the University of Vienna. Her research focuses on:

• Sociology of film
• Social inequality
• Austrian film and the history of Austrian film
• Representation oriented film analysis
